Bergen County Historical Society
We are devastated by the loss of a significant part of Bergen County’s history during this recent flood. Many priceless artifacts, entrusted to the care of the state in the Steuben House at Historic New Bridge Landing, which we have furnished for the past seventy years, have been damaged. We appeal to everyone who values this great heritage for help. As a volunteer organization, we have limited resources, unequal to the task before us. Email us: contactBCHS@bergencountyhistory.org

While this tragedy is still fresh in the public mind, we ask our legislators and officials at every level of government to consider the way that the State of New Jersey presently administers its historic sites so as to ensure their best possible future care and protection.
Please see below for photographs of the damaged collections. May take awhile to download because of the volume of items.
Many people have inquired how they might help the Bergen County Historical Society in its efforts to restore the museum collections and get them into a safe museum building.
