Bausback Family & Bausback Hotel in Ridgefield Park
« on: December 27, 2009, 02:16:08 PM »
Thanks to anyone who can share any info / memories about the old Bausback Hotel in Ridgefield Park, the B&M Soda Foutain across from Ridgefield Park train station, or the Bausback family in general.  Louis Bausback (June 1856 - Nov. 11, 1925) seems to have first moved to Little Ferry in the 1890s, and at some point opened the Bausback Hotel in Ridgefield Park.  According to a 1900 book called "The History of Bergen County" by J.M. Van Valen, Louis also seems to have been one of the first officers elected to the then-newly organized Borough of Little Ferry.  "Also in the family were wife Maria Elisabetha Spatz Bausback (1860 - Dec. 15, 1938) and children Emma (Jan. 5, 1879 - 1925), Charles Louis (Feb. 24, 1884 - May 3, 1952), Catherine Eva (Dec. 12, 1890 - ?) and Henry William (May 22, 1892 - Aug. 25, 1891).  Thanks to anyone who can help add to my records.
