I am looking for information on George Maidment who was born in about 1816 in Yeovil, Somerset, England. He met and fell in love with Harriett Brown and was married to her in March 1841. They are found in Somerset England in the 1841 Census. Next time they are found in in the 1850 US Federal Census in Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey. Harriett (Maidneent) is found in the 1880 US Federal Census in Jersey City, Hudson, New Jersey as a widow living with someone "Something other than a direct relationship". Any help will do.
