Looking for Rev. War ancestors
« on: November 21, 2007, 05:16:56 PM »
I have ancestors that would have been of the age to be in the Rev. War.  How do I go about finding out if they actively participated?
Would anyone know?
**Jacob Newkirk: born Nov. 2, 1807  - died May 9, 1888 - wife: Fitje Hennion Newkirk - lived in Bergen
**Jan Pieters Durie: born Feb.11, 1754 - died May 4, 1819 - wife: Maria Demarest  - lived in Bergen
**David Demarest: born Nov. 26, 1727 - died Nov. f27, 1816 - wife: Maria Van Buskirk Demarest - lived in Bergen
Thanks for any help at all!!!!ß

Thank you for your reply!  I haven't looked at this site in quite a while!  There seems to be more than one David Demarest - was your Rev. War patriot born 1727 - died 1816, married to Maria Van Buskirk?

Thanks so much!!!!!  I will make sure to check this post regularly now that I'm deeply involved with my father's side of the family - I've been finishing up my mother's side!
