I'm looking for information about the Van Winkle family, which might be Hudson county.  I have read information that Catherine Van Winkle and her sister Maria - daughters of Joseph Van Winkle a tavern keeper, aided the patriots, running messages between Lafayette and Washington during the Rev. War.  I'm looking for information to confirm that.  Can you help?  Thanks for your time!!
