About the Event

Lee Stohr will discuss on J. Walter Christie developing racing cars, fire fighting equipment, armored fighting vehicles and J. Walter's brief foray into aviation in 1910.

Lee Stohr is a design engineer who has worked primarily in the motorsports world. After graduating from the University of Delaware with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1979, Lee's early career included work on multiple areas of FAA certification and production of a 4 passenger airship for American Blimp Corporation in Hillsboro, OR.  Lee also worked on NASA Space Suits at ILC Dover. In 1990, Lee began designing and building road racing cars for competition in the Sports Car Club of America.  He founded Stohr Cars, which went on to win over 20 National Championships in the USA and several more in Australia. Currently Lee Stohr is an engineering consultant with an office location in the state of Washington, USA.  Stohr Design creates reproduction metal castings, often using state-of-the-art 3D printing methods. Lee Stohr is also an amateur auto racing historian with particular interest in the pre-WWII era.

Takes place in the Steuben House, 1209 Main Street, River Edge, NJ. Free, no reservation needed. Refreshments at the conclusion. Free parking on Main Street.
