About the Event

The Bergen County Historical Society will be having its annual Summertime Social on Sunday, August 11th, 1 pm- 4:30 pm, HNBL, 1201 Main Street, River Edge NJ. Note the date change to 8/11/24.

An ice cream making demonstration will take place. Kite decorating and flying for children will be on site as well, weather permitting. The museum site will be open for tours.

Ticket reservations are encouraged: $12 adults, $7 students, BCHS members free. Buy tickets here online or at the door. Free parking available on site or take the train to the “New Bridge Landing” station on the Pascack Valley Line. Dogs are permitted on site on a leash but not in the houses. 

Visit Bergen County’s premier historic site this summer:  Historic New Bridge Landing! The Bergen County Historical Society will be having its annual Summertime Social on Sunday August 11th 1 pm- 4:30 pm 1201 Main Street, River Edge NJ.

Staffed by knowledgeable BCHS interpreters, all 3 Jersey- Dutch sandstone houses including the state historic 1752 Steuben House will be open for tours throughout the day.

New exhibits are on display for viewing in the Steuben House including our Revolutionary War artifacts from our extensive collections.

Stop by the Westervelt-Thomas Barn to see a broom making demonstration.

Check out The Blackhorse Inn located in the Campbell-Christie House where light summer refreshments will be available.

Do not forget to visit the society’s authentic Jersey Dutch out-kitchen where BCHS interpreters will be having a Dairy Day making butter, ice cream and farmer’s cheese.

Kite decorating and flying for children will be on site as well, weather permitting.
