About the Event
Postponed due to impending storm to February!
Members of the Bergen County Historical Society and Historic New Bridge Landing State Park Commission will be organizing a Winter Invasive Species Plant Identification Walk and Removal on Sunday, January 21st. Meet at 10 am in front of the Von Steuben House for a welcome and brief introduction.Â
We will identify invasive vines located throughout the park and begin the process of removing them. Bring lopers and gloves, sturdy shoes are also recommended. Invasive plants like Porcelain Berry or Mile a Minute Vine can outcompete native plants and their weight can actually pull down trees. By identifying and cutting vines in the winter, one can slow the spread of the invasive plants and continue to organically control their spread.Â
HNBL, 1209 Main Street, River Edge, NJ.Â
No RSVP or tickets.
Led by Past BCHS President, James Smith.
